Reflexive pronouns (myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves) são usados quando sujeito e objeto são a mesma pessoa: She taught herself. Também dão ênfase (I did it myself) e formam by myself = sozinho. Não use como sujeito.
Quando a ação “volta” para quem a faz, o inglês usa os pronomes terminados em -self (singular) e -selves (plural). Simples — mas há três usos distintos e algumas armadilhas. Ouça os oito e fixe no exercício.
Os oito reflexivos

Os três usos
- Ação que volta ao sujeito: She cut herself.
- Ênfase: I'll do it myself. (eu mesmo, ninguém mais)
- “by + reflexivo” = sozinho/sem ajuda: He lives by himself.
Reflexivo ≠ “each other”
Quando duas pessoas fazem a ação uma à outra, use each other, não o reflexivo: They helped each other (um ajudou o outro) ≠ They helped themselves (cada um se serviu/ajudou a si). Sentidos diferentes.
Os erros que entregam o brasileiro
- Reflexivo como sujeito: ❌ Myself and John went → ✅ John and I went.
- Reflexivo onde não precisa: ❌ I feel myself tired → ✅ I feel tired.
- themselves x each other: ação mútua = each other.
- Singular/plural: uma pessoa = -self; várias = -selves.
